10 Ski Hats You’ll Have No Problem Getting Noticed In

Your choice of skiing or snowboarding headgear is an important one. No other piece of winter related equipment will be more visible and more telling of your style than what you put on your head.
1. The Mad Bomber
I’m pretty sure one the kids in “A Christmas Story” wore a mad bomber hat. It’s a super warm hat appropriate for those who feel turning is for sissies.
2. Union Jack
If you have the Union Jack on top of your mini cooper you might as well have it on top of your head too. Perfect for all those indoor artificial ski resorts in England.
3. The Nice Girl Beanie
The Dazey Beanie by DaKine is a triumph of simplistic style and form. It comes in a few color options but we like this one best. A sweet beanie for somebody sweet.
4. The Preppy Beanie
The North Face Preppy Cable Visor Beanie offers a little bit of color and style to the sea of charcoal colored visor beanies already on the slopes. It’s a little bit Zack Morris and a little bit Where’s Waldo.
5. Optic Port Hats
Optic Ports makes a headband and beanie style ski hat with the ability to insert your sunglass straight through the beanie instead of underneath. An interesting idea I am almost positive will never catch on.
6.Skunk Helmet Cover
A clear statement to everyone else on the hill to keep their distance. If you don’t like talking to people in line this helmet cover may not be the right choice for you.
7. Stylish Helmet
The Giro Encore2 Bleiler Helmet is a nice looking helmet with a little flair all its own. This one’s too pretty for a helmet cover.
8.Tune-Ups
The tune-ups systems allows you to integrate the audio of iPods, cd players, cellphones and other gadgets into your helmet. Some of the higher end Giro helmets such as the Omen and Fuse support or come with the Tune-ups system.
9.The Panda Mask
When it comes to keeping your head warm, pro wrestling and bank robberies nothing says “awesome” like the panda mask. This one is from SpaceCraft . . .search Google at your own risk.

Are you looking for the Maplus X6 Stealth helmet? Either way Blog Tahoe doesn’t sell ski equipment. Sorry.

Love your blog! Just saw it for the first time. Been skiing for 30 years, Tahoe for 20.
I’d like to mention that head-gear is critical in many ways
- but keep the non-helment based fashions for the lodges. When on the slopes a helmet is essential.
The worst non-helmet related accident I ever witnessed -
Coldish, perfect Tahoe sunny blue morning at Sugar Bowl.
Beautiful groomed slopes with a smattering of small icy groomer ridges and death cookies.
Excellent skier in a jaunty hat that we skied near for a couple of high speed runs.
Near the lift, right in front of my wife, he hits a couple inch high groomer ridge that he didn’t see.
Yard sale. A definite bruiser but might have been ok (he was 60+) except one ski comes up and smacks him in the head, shattering his sun glasses and lacerating his scalp.
Blood gushing. My wife gave him her bandana to sop up some until his companions and medical aid arrived.
On the lift just after we see ski patrol is treating a baseball sized lump on his head.
His wife told mine that just that morning they were trying to convince him to wear a helmet.
