The town of Truckee is doing something about wasted plastic and litter.
The Town of Truckee, in a unique partnership with an Alder Creek Middle School class and funded by a grant from the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation, is aiming to reduce those numbers in Truckee by distributing 2,000 organic cotton bags.
The once Sinatra owned Cal Neva Casino on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore may be forced to close soon if they don’t fix their dated and unreliable alarm systems.
The Cal Neva Lodge & Casino’s system might or might not notify occupants of a fire because of its faulty, unreliable wiring, said Fire Marshal Tom Smith of the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District.
