Is Lake Tahoe home to Big Foot?

By: Aaron Robbins
Growing up I always thought there was just a single “Big Foot.” This assumption was based on the grammatical use of the words “big foot” rather than “big feet”. I’m older now and a recent article in the OC Register has illuminated the fact that plenty . . .ok, some . . .fine, a few people believe Mr. The Foot is actually a group beings known as Sasquatch. Further, this group of about two dozen believe the apparently large footed chewbacca looking super apes are roaming around the forests of our beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Although it’s a serious news story about serious Lake Tahoe researchers, the OC Register article reads like something from The Onion, a spoof and humor newspaper. According to the article the group leader, who lives in Henderson Nevada, has actually hired a full time Big Foot Researcher to romp around Tahoe looking for the supesized Ewoks. I hope all of you Blog Tahoe readers will appreciate the subtle irony when I tell you the full time Big Foot researcher’s name is Matt Moneymaker. Ya, that’s right, “Moneymaker”.
I know this article may have some really slight sarcastic undertones. I certainly do not mean to make light of issue that may seriously effect readers of Blog Tahoe and residents of the Lake Tahoe area. In all seriousness, would you know what to do if you stumbled across some Big Feet? Those of you who said “take video and photos of it with a cell phone, upload it to youtube and retire” win a special Blog Tahoe prize.
I’ll leave it up to you. Do you think that Mr. The Foot and the whole Foot family are living in Lake Tahoe?
