Tahoe and Reno: Food Reviews

Often times blogs talk about too many different topics. Their scope of information is endlessly wide and the lack of focus seems to confuse its core readership. When I was initially thinking about the focus for Blog Tahoe I came up with a lot of different topic ideas. Restaurant reviews were something I considered for a long time but in the end I didn’t feel I could dedicate the time to a Lake Tahoe niche that specific. There is a lot of great food in the Lake Tahoe area and with out a doubt some of those eateries will make it into various articles here.

Their presence, though, will be more about how the eatery fits into a day of Tahoe activities rather then a specific critique of the restaurant itself. Luckily I came across a promising blog through the Reno Gazette Journal that is already doing a great job of covering food around the Reno / Tahoe area. The pictures of the food leave a little to be desired illustrating how much work must go into photographing food that actually looks yummy. Pictures aside, it’s nice to see a newspaper blogging on a particular subject rather then just writing up semi canned reviews that go unchanged for years. The RGJ dining blog really makes you want to try some of these places. I, for one, will be hitting up Mikuni at the new Northstar village very soon.
