The 42 hardest ski runs North Lake Tahoe has to offer.

By: Aaron Robbins
It happens all the time. You spot a nice challenging run from the safety of a chairlift only to find it’s twice as steep and 3 times as narrow when viewed from the top. Over the last 2 decades I’ve skied quite a few of Lake Tahoe’s black diamonds. I’ve also taken a rain check

Squaw Valley’s Hardest Areas
Squaw doesn’t really name or rate their runs. Instead, the resort is sectioned into areas named after the chairlift servicing them. The lifts are given a name and a rating which corresponds to the general difficulty of the trails in that area. With that said here are some of Squaws most challenging areas.
14. Granite Chief
15. Siberia Bowl
16. The Slot Area
17. G.S Bowl
18. East Face
Alpine Meadows’ Double Blacks

Homewood’s double blacks
Homewood used to named this area after the degree of the run’s slope. Now the runs have actual names which are listed below.
